Travis is a good ole' boy born and raised in Georgia. After completing
his education at The University of Alabama he moved to Florida
to enjoy the warm water. He has spent the majority of his
life his life in and behind the boat. That time has earned
him national and world titles as well as the respect of the
top athletes in the sport as a coach and driver. He has worked
with many of the top riders since its inception in the early
90's. If you have ever been to a professional wakeboarding
contest more than likely you have seen Travis sitting behind
the wheel. He drives almost every professional event including
the Pro Tour and the X Games, as well as working on the MasterCraft
X-Series development team.
When not sitting in the boat he is spending time with his wife Kristin, riding his motorcycle, or trying to make his yard as pristine as Augusta National. He is also a terrible guitarist and golfer. He enjoys playing with all of his animals, especially his Italian Greyhound, Bocce, that is one of the 3 Boarding School Doggies you will get to hang with while you are here.

Shaun was
born in Southern California in 1976, Shaun learned to ski
in San Diego Bay when he was four. At 11 his family moved
on a lake at Lake St Louis, MO. It was there, with the encouragement
of his older brother Chris, that Shaun tried his first Skurfer.
In the summer of ’94, Chris snagged a job teaching at
Benzell’s (now WWC) for both Shaun and himself. It was
there, with daily practice, that Shaun’s style began
to emerge. Basically self-taught, Shaun went back to St Louis
for the Pro Tour stop and won the amateur challenge.
The
following summer he began trying to qualify on the pro tour.
Each try got him closer to the final rounds, but it wasn’t
until the Portland stop that he made the finals. He placed
an amazing fifth and showed the TV crowd what was to finally
be called the Bel Air. Following that stop, Hyperlite offered
him a contract. After qualifying for finals at World’s
that year, he asked his parents if he could “take
a semester off.” They agreed and the rest is history.
Shaun’s riding steadily improved with his signature
fluid style.
He
has won the World Championship 4 times, including the Expression
Session in 1996 where he rode in his Elvis costume with
live rockets attached to his belt. Shaun is always ready
to try something new and is recognized as a person who has
done a great deal for the sport.
Shaun started his passion for coaching with his Detention video that has a cult like following. Through working with students at the camp over the past 4 years Shaun has refined a lot of his methods and will soon be releasing his new Detention DVD’s, and passing on his legendary skills and humor that he is known for.
When not at the camp Shaun is with his wife Kerri and usually up to something crazy. He is known for building crazy things in his yard to launch off of one way or another. There is never a dull moment when Shaun is around. Shaun is a real “Hey Watch This” guy, except he usually doesn’t give the warning!

Kyle Rattray is originally from Guelph, Ontario Canada. He has been coming down to Orlando over the winter for the past five years, but officially made the full time move here in 2006. He has been the Canadian National Champion as well as finishing in the top 5 in several Pro Tours. You may have seen his parts in the movies Updog and Transgression. After a very strong start in 2007 he ended up blowing his knee out mid-season giving him an early end to what was sure to be a top 10 finish for the year. He immediately found the best doctor around, got surgery, and has been rehabbing like a mad man ever since. He will get to start riding again at the beginning of the year and is sure to keep the same motivation on the water that he has in the gym. Kyle is the first person we brought on to work with us at The Boarding School. He has been a perfect fit all the way around. He is an amazing coach as well as a driver for the Pro Tour. We are looking for Kyle to have an outstanding 2008. His sponsors are Gator Wakeboards, O’Neill Wetsuits and Clothing, Spy Sunglasses, Roswell Wake Accessories, and Osiris Shoes.

Robby is 21 years old and originally from Michigan. After his family ran from the cold it didn’t take long for Robby to realize he was meant to be behind the boat. He started riding when he was 14 and immediately fell in love with the sport. He is a young talent you are sure to hear more about. He has been featured on the covers of both Wakeboarding Magazine as well as Alliance, and is a regular throughout the pages of both. Through his training at The Boarding School he is hoping to make his mark on the Pro Tour this year. He gives 100% on the water, as well as in the boat. We are excited to have him as an addition to our team this year, as I am sure you will be. He is sponsored by Byerly Wakeboards, Sessions Clothing, Rockstar Energy Drink, Skull Candy Headphones, and Marine Products.

Josh Palma, also referred to as “chocolate rain,” is 23 years old and a central Florida native. Having just graduated from Rollins College in the spring of ’06, Josh recently shifted his focus from school to riding full-time. Unfortunately, his first year on the Pro Tour (2006) was cut short by a knee injury. This past year was Josh’s first full year competing on the Pro Tour. Due to the fact that he was fresh off an injury, Josh eased back into competition and consequently had some extra down time between events this summer; it was during these breaks that Josh began coaching at The Boarding School. Because he has been riding and coaching periodically at The Boarding School for several years, bringing Josh on board in a more permanent sense was an easy call. Josh’s passion for the sport and its progression seem to be the primary motivators for both his riding and coaching. Josh is currently sponsored by Hyperlite, Mastercraft, Accurate lines, Ambush, Buywake.com, and Oakley.
